Race Description:
On a day that was by all accounts "hot and muggy", the Independence Day Race yet again broke its own attendance record with 525. And while times were slower than usual, the heat didn't stop Michael Morrissey from becoming the first repeat winner of the men's race, relegating Art Reilly to a second consecutive second-place finish. The women's race was won for the second time in a row by Diane Tedford. The wheelchair race, also having grown in popularity over the five editions of the event, featured Bill McGovern of Troy, NY who finished second overall in the race.
