A year after the men's race was dominated by New Yorkers, Berkshire natives struck back in the third edition of the Independence Day Road Race. Locals took the top 3 spots in both gender divisions, led by North Adams native Michael Morrissey. In the women's race, the Berkshire Eagle jested that the trophy should be named after Beth (Voll) Herder, as she continued her domination of the event. continued her domination of the women's race.
